We are looking forward to all kinds of talks from all kinds of folks at WordCamp Hamilton! We encourage people from all over to attend, but we always want to promote our local talent. Don’t ever think you have nothing to share.
This year, during our meetups, we’ve looked at a number of topics, which we chose at the beginning of the year in an all out planning session. But we’re not done yet! Now, we get to elaborate on those topics and find some new ones. You can find out more about our monthly local meetup on Meetup.com.
Got a topic that you think our membership might be interested in hearing about? Did you learn something at our meetup and now want to show it off? We are hoping to have some great local talent, as well as bringing in speakers to our great city from all around with amazing knowledge. Last year, we ran a diversity workshop, along with a survival guide to your first WordCamp leading up to our event, which we might still do again.
We are doing a single day again this year, so workshops aren’t on the agenda, but we are still interested in hearing about ideas for workshops, firstly, to see if there might be enough to run a second day next year, and secondly, for future meetup ideas.
If you’d like to propose multiple topics, please submit the form multiple times, once for each topic. Not sure what to talk about? Check out the list of Talk Ideas. Need to chat with us? Find our contact info here.
Diversity Matters!
(borrowed from WordCamp Europe 2018)
WordCamp Hamilton is committed to creating a diverse conference that is representative of the WordPress community. We welcome submissions from a diverse set of backgrounds, and particularly applications from under-represented groups in tech.
As a community-focused event, it’s important that we create a space where old friends can get together, new relationships can be forged, ideas exchanged, and everyone feels comfortable. Harassment in any form will not be tolerated. This includes any harassing activity from speakers, sponsors, volunteers, or attendees. We reserve the right to remove, without refund, any attendee who does not adhere to our code of conduct.
The deadline for speaker submissions is April 1, 2019 Apri 12, 2019 (we’ve extended the deadline!).
